Watersheds: Select Preservation Areas

Information to identify areas for preservation includes results from

  • the CBP Resource Lands Assessment,
  • the recently completed Protected Forests Lands,
  • and results from the CBP-USGS land-cover change model.

Selecting areas to enhance preservation actions:
  • Use the COAST Preservation Mapper to:
    • Identify areas with high water-quality value
    • Identify forest lands with high water-quality value
    • Assess vulnerability of lands to future population growth
  • Select areas based on above and opportunities to implement practices.
  • Go to the "Choose and Implement Actions" component of COAST.
