USGS Science Featured on the Frontline/PBS Program “Poisoned Waters”

"Poisoned Waters" provides a status of America’s waters since the Clean Water Act was signed in 1972 and focuses on conditions and challenges in the Chesapeake Bay and the Puget Sound. The program aired on April 21 and can be viewed at: www.pbs.org/frontline/poisonedwaters/

Results from two USGS studies are shown:

  • Intersex conditions of small mouth bass in the Potomac River Basin
  • Contaminants in Washington D.C. drinking water
