USGS Chesapeake Bay Activities

USGS Works to Coordinate Science Activities

people studying the Chesapeake Bay watershed

The U.S. Geological Survey is working with Federal, State, and academic partners to enhance and coordinate the science activities needed to support adaptive management in the Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP) and to address the outcomes of the Watershed Agreement. The science to support the CBP Goal Teams is being coordinated through the CBP Scientific and Technical Assessment and Reporting (STAR) team and the Federal agencies within the Program. The Federal agencies provide an annual action plan that includes science activities.

Within USGS, our Chesapeake Bay studies collaborate with all USGS mission areas and with about half of the USGS national programs to support projects addressing CBP needs.
